Focusing on the reasons of Pakistan's educational problem and the ongoing difficulties in implementing policies, this paper traces the history of the country's educational policies from 1947 until 2023. There have been several attempts to improve the quality and accessibility of education in Pakistan, but the system is still dysfunctional and over 22.5 million children are not in school. The study finds commonalities and differences in the educational environment by analyzing major policies and changes from different periods. It examines the long-term effects of ignoring essential topics and contemporary teaching techniques, as well as the failure of well-meaning measures to close the gap between policy objectives and their actual implementation. The paper also delves into how these policies have affected the construction of national identities and offers suggestions for improving the implementation of future programs, such as the education policy for 2023. The results provide suggestions for how to accomplish significant success in the future by coordinating policy priorities with international educational standards.
