Abstract

This paper has been designed to examine gender bias and discrimination in private educational institutions through cultural values, socialization factors, and patriarchal societal normative structure. A quantitative study has been conducted and a multistage stratified random sampling technique has been used to draw 250 teaching staff including female and male from different schools. A cross-sectional survey has been conducted and a structured questionnaire has been administered and pretested from 30 randomly selected teachers and the value of Alpha has been reported as .700 and above. Descriptive and inferential statistics have been employed to draw results and conclusions. The study findings clinched that there is gender discrimination at private schools and women have been found treated unfairly at their jobs as compared to men. This gender discrimination is because of the society in which we live and because of the different family norms and perceptions that people have due to different backgrounds.
