Domestic Violence Against Women in Pakistan: The Role of Socio-Economic Factors

The research explains the relationship between socio-economic factors and domestic violence against females in UC Madina Sayedan Dist. Gujrat. The objective of the present study was to find out the impacts of socioeconomic factors on domestic violence among married females. The sample of the present study was comprised of 150 respondents. Interview schedule was used to collect the information through survey methods in Madina Syedan, Chak Mubarak, Loran, Gandra. Sample size of 151 respondents was selected through simple random sampling by using Taro Yamane formula. This was pretested by 20 respondents. After the data collection the researcher was used to analyze the data by using statistical package for social sciences. Results indicated that socioeconomic factors have negative relation with domestic violence. The study findings showed that domestic violence has been linked with socio-economic factors of the families.
